130-Literacy in the Electives
Intended Grade Level:  7-12
Target Audience:  Intermediate
Device required: Chromebook

You don't have to be an ELA teacher to add informational text in a meaningful way that supports the literacy work already occurring in the ELA classroom.  The Common Core Standards for Literacy in the History/Social Sciences, Science and Technical Subjects are all standards that non-ELA teachers, from art to video productions, can target. This we all know, but how is it done? This session will focus on the process of selecting informational text and strategies for implementing a lesson using informational text.
